The William Henry Harrison High School students in the seven winter teams, including sports and academic teams, merited an average 3.4 GPA (grade point average) for the third academic quarter term.
According to Athletic Director Mark Meibers, “Not only are these students excelling in their activities, they are also doing great with academics, showing they truly are student-athletes."
He adds, "It’s important to note that all of the seven teams have a strong GPA, reflecting positively on the students’ work ethic, and level of commitment to their sports and their education.”
The teams include girls’ and boys’ basketball, cheerleading, football, bowling, swimming, dance team, cheerleading and the academic team. GPAs for the teams range from 3.2 to 4.1 on a 4.0 scale.
Meibers notes, “Our student-athletes continue to excel both in the arena and in the classroom. We are very proud of their effort and how they challenge themselves to achieve. Their hard work is evident."
