High School’s Marching Band Busy This Fall

This year’s show is titled “Industrial Velocity” and the band has been hard at work practicing since July on the show they plan to perform for upcoming competitions and performances.

The band’s first competition is Saturday afternoon, October 7, at Bellevue High School where they will compete against other division AA bands within the Mid States Band Association.

The Marching Band has been invited by the City of Cincinnati to participate in this year’s Blink Parade, which will be held 7 p.m., Thursday, October 12 in downtown Cincinnati. To add some flair to their style, the sponsors of the event supplied the band with multi colored LED lights to install on the Snare Drums. Additional donations made it possible to install these LED’s on the Bass Drums.

Monday, October 30, is a big night for the music department when they present Showcase Southwest at the Activity Center starting at 6:00 p.m. The band will be one of numerous performances that evening.

And, rounding out this busy period, for the first time in the band’s history, they will be competing against Class B bands from around the United States at Lucas Oil Stadium at Grand Nationals Friday, November 10 at 7:30 pm.

The 2017 Marching Band consists of 64 members in grades 7 – 12 under the direction of Mr. Brian Egan. Color Guard is under the direction of Krissy Flannery. All marching band and color guard members also participate in PEP band, Concert band and Jazz band as well as Concert choir, Treble Cats and A Capella.
