The school is earmarking the $16,000 gift for the purchase of new wrestling mats for the activity center and is the most recent gift in ongoing support to the school district by the local restaurant.
“We’re happy that we can make such a gift in support of the school,” states Joanne Wandsnider, general manager & owner of Harrison Skyline. “We like backing all of the Harrison schools and education for local youth and hope that this gift will enhance the athletes’ experience.”
Skyline is a frequent benefactor, according to Harrison Athletic Director Mark Meibers.
“Thanks to Joanne and her crew, their generosity has truly made a difference for many students, families and the general public,” he states. “Their consistent support, such as their donation of $20,000 to resurface the gym floor at our Activity Center and this most recent gift, are reflections of the values that drive their restaurant.”
Chad Dennis, head wrestling coach, also shared his gratitude. “Safety of our student athletes is our top priority and these mats will help ensure such safety,” he states. “We appreciate the ongoing support of Harrison Skyline for our wrestling program and for all of the district’s athletes.”
